How to Whiten Teeth With Hydrogen Peroxide

Teeth Whitening

Maintaining dental health is as important as maintaining body hygiene. There are many ways which you can use to whiten your teeth, with some easily available items, instead of going through regular bleaching treatments. You can try some of the recipes that are mentioned in this article. Natural teeth whiteners also work well and are safe too. For starters, let’s see how to whiten teeth with hydrogen peroxide, which is available easily in the market and works well.

Whitening Procedure

Hydrogen peroxide is a highly reactive acid and has bleaching, as well as antiseptic properties, which makes our teeth white after using it. Many of the toothpastes and mouthwashes contain a little bit of hydrogen peroxide.

Rinse: Combine water and 9-35% hydrogen peroxide in 50-50 proportion. Rinse your mouth with the solution before, or after brushing your teeth.

Brush, Brush!: Take 2 tablespoons of baking soda and half tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, and make it into a paste by using water. You can add a few drops of peppermint extract, so that it gives you a minty flavor. Take a small amount of this mixture on your damp toothbrush, and brush your teeth.

Modify your Toothpaste: In a small glass bowl, squeeze, say about a tablespoon of your regular toothpaste. Add 4 to 6 drops of hydrogen peroxide to it and a pinch of salt. Mix it well. Use this on your toothbrush and brush your teeth normally. See the difference.

Home Remedies

There are other ways with which you can whiten teeth at home. Other than hydrogen peroxide, you can make use of other easily available whiteners like baking soda, toothpaste etc., and use them at home. Here are some quick recipes with baking soda. Prepare any of these and brush your teeth with it.

Recipe #1
Mix together 3 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of glycerin, and half tablespoon of salt in a bowl. Now add 4 to 6 drops of peppermint extract and mix well into a thick paste. Keep it in a jar and use this mixture to brush your teeth, instead of using your daily toothpaste for a few days. You’ll surely notice the difference.

Recipe #2
Put one tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl, add a few drops of white vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Add very little water to dissolve. Dip in your toothbrush and brush your teeth.

Recipe #3
Smash one strawberry into a pulp and add half tablespoon of baking soda in this pulp (add a spoonful of water, if necessary). Apply this mixture to your teeth with your index finger and leave it on till you can hold it. Rinse your mouth.
